Wharton State Forest Sticker

Wharton State Forest is located in the New Jersey Pine Barrens and is a place like no other! This sticker highlights some of its most-loved features, including Batsto Mansion, camping cabins at Atsion, Kayaking in the Mullica, Batsto and Oswego Rivers, hiking on the Batona trail with pink trail blazes, Harrisville Ruins and a yellow warbler - finished with the signature of Joseph Wharton himself! While much of New Jersey has been developed, the Pinelands still remain largely untouched. Also called the Pine Barrens, this 'barren' area remains because of its sandy, un-farmable soil and preservation efforts that continue to protect this 1.1 million acre treasure. The New Jersey Pinelands National Reserve was the first National Reserve in America, established in 1978.
